On March 15, 1925, Jack Hamm was welcomed into the world in Syracuse, New York, a second blessing to his parents George and Gladys Hamm. Raised in a household with two siblings, he received an education in the local schools before graduating from high school in 1943. Inspired by patriotism and a sense of adventure, he then took up a post in the US Navy, playing his part in the ravages of World War II.

A decade after the conclusion of the war, Jack Hamm sought further education at Syracuse University. After earning a degree in business administration in 1950, he attained employment in sales and went on to serve with a succession of employers. In 1957, his desire to be his own boss became a reality as he founded Jack Hamm & Associates – a company that steadily expanded and boomed with many members of staff.

Jack Hamm gave back to the community by participating in many organizations. Notably, he was part of the board of directors of two premier establishments in Syracuse – the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and the Everson Museum of Art. He was also an esteemed member of multiple groups, such as the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as an influential trustee at Syracuse University.

In 1995, Jack Hamm wrapped up his career and sailed into retirement with his wife Gloria. After they moved to Florida’s Naples, the golden years of retirement soon passed away. On February 27th, 2016, Jack Hamm passed away too, at the age of 90.

Jack Hamm was more than just a successful entrepreneur; he was an ardent benefactor to art and education in Syracuse. He left an admirable legacy in the form of various contributions to the local community that will never be forgotten.
